FPC 2022 Spring Member Meeting

The Spring Member Meeting will bring together FPC members for two days filled with presentations on the most pressing issues in faster payments, panel discussions with industry experts, roundtables on timely topics, and engaging networking opportunities. This in-person event will take place on March 3-4, 2022 at the Loews New Orleans Hotel.
Please note: the City of New Orleans Health Department currently requires all individuals to provide proof vaccine or negative antigen or PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to entry to indoor gatherings.An indoor mask mandate is also in effect. It takes an ecosystem to prepare for instant payments. Financial institutions require 24/7 connectivity, real-time settlement and liquidity management, customer interfaces, and fraud mitigation tools to prepare their underlying systems for instant payments. In this session, organizations across the ecosystem will discuss how FIs must transform their backrooms in preparation for instant payments along with how to discuss these updates with providers.

Evidence from countries that were early to adopt faster payments can provide important insights into the evolution of the US faster payments ecosystem. This panel will cover lessons learned from other countries regarding the end-user experience. Attend this session to hear a discussion on financial inclusion, authentication, and consumer protections. Panelists will share takeaways on the faster payments experience in the UK, Africa, India as well as for cross-border transactions.

This panel will explore the factors and requirements influencing attitudes to, and readiness for, payments hub adoption and modernization in North America. It will be based on the results of an online survey of 100 participants from payments processing organizations across the globe (conducted by Edgar, Dunn & Company on behalf of ACI Worldwide and the U.S. Faster Payments Council), regarding their current and expected payments hub status and their wider payments modernization journey. ACI Worldwide’s leaders will share considerations and recommendations for financial institutions to consider as they plan their own payments hub modernization journey.

In this session we’ll explore the growth of new payment options, their outlook in the future, and how banks and Fintechs are working together to provide unified payment experiences.

Digital assets and cryptocurrency are being considered on all levels and embraced by investors, financial institutions, and regulators – including their impact on faster payments. In this session, we will discuss the impacts of digital assets on faster payments, including the benefits, risks, implementation considerations, and 2022 expectations.
