Feb. 14, 2023 – The U.S. Faster Payments Council (FPC), a membership organization devoted to advancing safe, easy-to-use faster payments in the United States, today launched the 2023 Faster Payments Barometer Survey. In collaboration with Glenbrook Partners and sponsored by Volante Technologies, the latest survey is the fourth installment designed to gauge progress and perceptions around faster payments, trends, use cases, and challenges in the United States.
“In this year’s survey, we’ve introduced some new questions in addition to our traditional questions around the criticality of interoperability, progress towards faster payments, challenges to adoption, and more,” said FPC Executive Director Reed Luhtanen. “To take stock of how the industry has evolved, we’re requesting industry perspectives on the use of RTP® and FedNow℠ and plans for connecting to the systems, feedback on the top value-added services that may speed market adoption, and input on the types of fraud that are most concerning in faster payments. We look forward to the valuable insights gathered from the latest edition of the Barometer survey as we prepare for the next phase of the faster payments journey.”
The 2023 Faster Payments Barometer will be broadly circulated to the industry at large in order to receive responses from a wide range of payments stakeholder segments including financial institutions, core processors, payment network operators, business end users, acquirers, fintechs, and others. The Barometer survey will be open through March 22 and results will be shared in April.
The FPC prioritizes inclusion of diverse perspectives in tackling complex topics such as interoperability, identifying real-world solutions that can ease adoption of faster payments, managing security risks and fraud threats, addressing barriers to financial inclusion and cross-border payments, and more, as the organization paves the way toward a future of faster payments for all.
