U.S. Faster Payments Council Announces 2024 Board of Directors

June 24, 2024 – The U.S. Faster Payments Council (FPC), a membership organization devoted to advancing safe, easy-to-use faster payments in the United States, proudly announces the results of the 2024 election for its Board of Directors. This year, FPC members selected directors committed to upholding the organization's core principles of inclusiveness, flexibility, and transparency in their decision-making processes.
The newly elected FPC Board of Directors is made up of influential leaders from various sectors, including financial institutions, technology providers, business end users, payment network operators, consultants, payment associations, and consumer advocacy groups. The Board holds the crucial role of offering strategic guidance, promoting collaboration, and ensuring that all processes, activities, and recommendations align with the FPC's foundational values.
Starting July 1, 2024, six senior executives will begin their three-year terms as Directors. This group includes four current Directors who have been re-elected and two newcomers to the Board. Additionally, two senior executives will serve one-year terms as new At-Large Board Directors.
"We are thrilled to welcome the FPC's new Board members, whose diverse backgrounds and wealth of experience will undoubtedly enhance our collective efforts in advancing faster payments in the United States," said FPC Board Chairperson Michael Bilski. "I also want to extend my sincere thanks to the outgoing directors Kevin Christensen, Steve Kenneally, Beverly Kennedy, and Rob Lewis for their unwavering dedication and significant contributions, which have been integral to our progress and accomplishments."
The four new Directors who will join the FPC Board include:

- Miriam Sheril, Head of Product – US, Form3
- Steve Wasserman, Technology Architect, Photon Commerce
- Phillipa Wilson, Vice President, Faster Payments Strategy, Mastercard
The four returning Directors re-elected to new terms include:
- Margo Giles, Senior Vice President, Payment Operations, Alloya Corporate Federal Credit Union
- Cathy Lesser Mansfield, Law Professor, National Consumer Law Center
- Perry Starr, Director of Payment Acceptance, Target Corporation
- Peter Tapling, Managing Director, PTap Advisory, LLC
"The guidance and leadership of our Board are essential to advancing the FPC’s mission. Their strategic vision, combined with a commitment to collaborative problem-solving are crucial as we tackle the evolving landscape of payments," said FPC Executive Director Reed Luhtanen. "We are at an inflection point. Stakeholders from across our membership are proclaiming a need for standardized user interfaces and dispute resolution practices.
